Terje Nicolaisen will present a lot of work that is normally not considered works, or at least have not been shown. This will be an improvised show, where he will try to make sense of what he is doing, which is not clear to him.

Challenges with how and why to MAKE something into an artwork or to keep it as a NOTATION. The challenges of being a provider of ideas, that has no actual public interest etc.

Terje Nicolaisen has since he graduated from the Academy in Bergen (VKA/KHIB/KMD/UIB), been working in a number of totally different media, drawing and painting being the main platform. His work seems to question his own role as an artist, the so called art system and the power structures that maintains it. He could be labeled as an idea-based artist although the recent years he has increasingly focused on the actual making of the image and the where this imaged might be originating from. He has exhibited extensively in Norway and abroad, some of the most prominent shows in Van Etten (Oslo), Plum Trim (Nesodden), Henie Onstad (Høvik, Galleri Riis (Oslo), Bergen Kunsthall No.5 (Bergen), Cirrus Gallery (Los Angeles), Momentum (Moss), Oslo Kunsthall (Oslo) and Nasjonalmuseet (Oslo). He i s also one of five members of Tegneklubben, an artist collective focusing on the low brow unskilled A4 drawing.
