Dániel Péter Birò, Professor for Composition at the Grieg Academy, has created a work that integrates the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza into a musical composition. Each movement of the work creatively responds to Spinoza’s theories of cognition, forming a dialogue between philosophical reflection and musical expression.

Conductor: Walter Nußbaum

The concert is part of the Sounding Philosophy Conference "Dimensions":
Ahead of this concert there will be an accompanying seminar, artistic installations and concerts centered around the theme “Dimensions.” Presenters will look at concepts of dimensionality as existing in artistic, philosophical and scientific disciplines. Questions about the nature of cognition, the borders of consciousness and artistic agency will be discussed during this first seminar of the Sounding Philosophy project, combining artistic results with conference presentations and round-table discussions.

Free admission to the concert. Welcome!
