The project Things that might be true has examined how visual communication design might help devise new methods and tools for the public to approach politics, and, by extension, expand the conversation about democracy on a personal as well as societal level. Through public engagement, dialogue, discussion, and introspection, has Ingrid explored ways for citizens to listen to, and connect with their inner political voice.

The overarching artistic outcome of this study is the presentation of a new fictional governmental department. In the exhibition, both the practice and identity of the Stemme Department will be showcased through visual communication materials, exhibition design, rhetorical objects, rhetorical users, staged publicly at Bergen Public Library and Bergen Storsenter from March 5th to 8th, 2024.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday, March 5th, at 6:00 PM at Bergen Storsenter.

INNER POLITICAL LANDSCAPES
(WORKSHOP)

MONDAY–FRIDAY / 05.–08.03.2024 / 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Bergen Storsenter (vis-à-vis Bergen Public Library)

During the exhibition period, it will be possible to participate in the workshop "Inner Political Landscapes", every day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

When you listen to your inner political voice – what does it say? In this drop-in workshop, you'll turn your gaze inward to discover what your inner political landscape looks like. Forget about the election quizzes, the important single issue that resonates with your reason, or what your surroundings and friends have influenced you to believe in. What is it within yourself that makes you vote as you do? Within, you can find many things, perhaps chaotic things, frightening things, or perhaps calming and everyday things. It could be a past or a future you're envisioning. You can traverse between the abyss and open plains – the familiar and the unknown.
