DIVE is an ambitious artistic response to the instabilities and challenges of the era, from the surge towards right wing politics, questions of belonging, identity and climate change to artificial intelligence, fake news and surveillance.

The great strength of this exhibition is how art, in all its multiple forms, has been used to explore meanings in response to our times that are ambiguous and complex, that leave you with multiple questions rather than answers. A particular characteristic of wave is a strong material quality, there is much handmade and hand-crafted processes used to explore the individual and collective themes set out by the students.

What art can do for us is help us become more comfortable with the grey, the shady areas, the places where identity isn’t clear cut. And that’s what this show from the students has set out to celebrate individually and collectively.

The exhibition, the first KMD Fine Art exhibition to be held in Møllendalsveien 61, sets a new precedent and standard for not only The Art Academy - but for the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design.
