First of all, Statsbygg thanks the Department of Design at the University of Bergen for the assignments that have been selected as candidates for the "Statsbygg student award for interior architecture" for 2024.

The nominees

Exciting candidates have also been selected this year, and the jury says that it has been a real pleasure to read their assignments. Strong projects with social sustainability and high aesthetic value were something that was repeated in the projects of this year's nominees.

The winner of "Statsbygg's student award for interior architecture" is:

Mozhgan Sadat Sanieenezhad with the project Voice of shadows.

The jury's reasoning:

Voice of Shadows takes us on a fascinating journey, where we follow the project's evolution through experimentation and analysis towards a final design language.

The design process addresses the need for innovation by combining analytical methods with an experimental approach, demonstrating how interior architecture strengthens the connection between human and space.

The project contributes to the development of accessible and inclusive environments and promotes the participation of individuals with visual impairments in various social contexts.

The candidate`s approach seeks to capture and present a nuanced dialogue between the void and the individuals navigating the environment, creating a narrative that transcends visual boundaries. The jury is impressed by the project's unique methods, and we look forward to seeing their further development and application within the field of interior architecture.
