The Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (KMD) offers BA, MA and PhD programmes based on an internationally recognised level of artistic research.

We educate future artists, designers, performing musicians, composers, music therapists, musicologists, curators, and music and art teachers. The faculty has three departments: The Art Academy - Department of Contemporary Art, the Grieg Academy - Department of Music and the Department of Design.

Many teaching projects take place in the public space, and the exam projects are typically presented in central galleries and concert venues. The faculty is continuously developing through dialogue between students and academic staff. The teaching is continuously evaluated and this ensures that KMD is a living and quality-enhancing institution.

KMD's MA programmes offer teaching in English, however you'll need to speak a Scandinavian language to be enrolled to one of our BA programmes.
