Favour Ritaro is a Nigerian curator whose research and curatorial work is focused on personal and cultural identities. She is interested in ideas that challenge and enhance our understanding of the past, its impacts on the present, and imagine alternative realities in the future. Her research interest takes the form of a hypothesis by providing answers to thematic question: “How does the past impact us, and how will our actions and inactions impact future generations?”
In recent times, she has been engaged in curatorial work that investigates the role of archives in curatorial practice as new documentary resources for curatorial and art historical research.
She is a recipient of the Association of Art Museum Curators Curatorial Mentorship Programme, New York, and ARAK Collection Curatorial Residency Fellowship. Her undergraduate degree is in Art History, from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria.
