Master i utøvende musikk og komposisjon 2019

Bio

Katri Porkka (b.1991) is from Finland. She started playing the clarinet at the age of 9 in the local music school in her home town Oulainen. After high school she studied Music Pedagogy, clarinet as her main instrument, in the University of Applied sciences in Tampere with the teacher Pekka Ahonen. In 2014 she graduated as a Bachelor of Music Pedagogy and started to work as a clarinet teacher in various music schools. In 2017 she was accepted into the University of Bergen to study with the Principal Clarinetist of the Bergen Philharmonic orchestra, Christian Stene. During her Master studies she spent one semester in the Zürich University of the Arts studying in the clarinet class of Fabio di Casola. For Katri, the best part of being a musician is to get to play together with others and to create miraculous worlds through music. Chamber music is very close to her heart and for that reason on the stage tonight you will see many friends performing alongside with her.
