Markus Eriksen

Master i utøvende musikk og komposisjon 2019

Markus Eriksen started his studies at the Grieg Academy in 2013, and now he will finish his masters degree with this grand concert. He is a very versatile cellist who plays as a soloist, chamber musician, and as an orchestra musician. Besides being an active performer, Markus also enjoys teaching and conducting. He plays baroque cello besides the classical cello, and has devoted his masters degree for the past two years to Beethoven. Together with pianist Martha Berit Belt he has done innovative research, recordings and interpretations of the Beethoven cello sonatas, and this concert will introduce some of his work.
