Emiliano Ortíz Benítez

Bio

I am a Mexican composer focused on the analysis of spiritual chants from ancient cultures as a form of inspiration for my current work. I began my musical studies as a pianist at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico, where I later studied composition. My music has been premiered in Mexico, Japan, India, and Norway, by ensembles like Quasar Saxophone quartet, Edvard Grieg Vocal Ensemble, BIT20 ensemble, EON ensemble, and Ensamble de Música Contemporánea del CNM. In addition to my academic focus, I have also worked as a composer in contemporary dance and theater productions; in documentaries, short films, TV commercials, and as a film composer.
