The concert will consist of themes
derived from Claude’s explorative
research into odd time signatures
and rhythmic forms applied to South
African Styles. Through a crafted
process of improvisation, reflection and
development, new melodies and forms
stood out. This created a new platform
for rhythmic perspective which lurks
into the unknown.
The process was done by using a
self-production technique of track
recording different percussion
instruments and others one by one
and then making explorative
changes and edits.
For the first time, this rhythmic study
will be performed with a live band
collectively improvising over the
themes and melodies created by the
initial rhythmic patterns.
