(b.1993), (She/her). Ylva Larsson explores corporations as a species, investigating their bodies, inner lives, and status in their surroundings. Through immersive performances and installations, she constructs speculative realities where companies breathe, merge and mutate; suggesting that their physicality exists on a frequency incomprehensible to human senses. Their presence is explored in part through mythological and monstrous imagery. Her practice is rooted in corporate linguistics, common office phrases, and everyday metaphors used to describe companies. By bending and stretching the content of these expressions, she questions the unintended meanings that a certain language use can accumulate and how that shapes our perception of these abstract beings. Her recent work explores the ambivalent and rapidly shifting view of corporate intentions and instincts. Questioning whether corporations as emphatic creatures, can be accused of evil.
