Bio

she/her, b. 1997, Denmark. I began pulling threads from one field to another. Between myths, textile and bodily experiences. I discovered my interest was in the intersection of threads. The power of language. To draw connections and merge opposites. Carving out words from books. For so long we have told the story of the Hero. But before we were hunters, we were gatherers. Weaving being the first transmitter of meaning. Women being the transmitters of meaning. Sofie is a weaver, who works with storytelling, text, largescale sculptures and installations. In her practice she interprets and activates the layers of weaving: the act of weaving and its metaphorical properties, histories and associated narratives.
