JOY Forum is being divided in two separate rooms. Both spaces aim to make the viewer aware of the notion of color as a material or physical situation, though both in a different ways. Both spaces are transformed in a world that is build up by textiles, light and color. Color is being liberated in the physical space and becomes the central focus point in the gallery .
The installation at Joy Forum is following a continuous investigation into your psychologically respond to illumination and color.
Sara Plantefève-Castryck (b.1990 Brussels, Belgium) holds a BFA from LUCA, School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium (2013) and received a MFA from the Faculty for Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen (2018). Plantefève-Castryck is interested in the existing social structures between art, the gallery space and the audience. With her spatial installations she tries to find ways to break social boundaries and let people actively engage in co-creating or activating her artwork. Her work exists in a space between drawing, sculpture and installation. Currently she is exploring the medium of light as a sculptural medium to investigate our experience and psychologically respond to illumination and color.
