Bio

Hi! My name is Trine Sæther Busengdal, I am 25 years old and I’m from Kristiansund. Before my master’s studies, I got a bachelor’s degree in design at KMD. Growing up I loved exploring through drawing and hands-on work. I have always enjoyed creating, which led me to choose a creative career. I care about how design affects people’s well-being and sense of belonging and how we can create more inclusive solutions.

PROJECT

What makes a neighbourhood a good place to live? Who decides the colors? How can we make people aware of how much our surroundings affect us?

These questions shaped my master’s thesis. In this project, I explore how colors can help preserve identity and cultural heritage in city planning. Through studies of old color palettes and the colors we have now, as well as interdisciplinary conversations, I look at how thoughtful use of color can strengthen the character of a place and prevent dull, uniform housing areas in Dale, Kristiansund.

The project emphasizes social sustainability and the role of color in cultural heritage, with a goal to develop a unity in more diverse, lively, and inclusive neighbourhoods
