Vilde Takla

Department: Visual communication

Origin: Norway

Bio

Originating from the scenic fjords of Hardanger, Vilde relocated to Bergen to study her passion for arts and design, which she describes more as a journey for the academic pursuits. Amazed by how many ways and solutions there are within design, and excited to dive into the diverse fields that pique her curiosity.

Throughout her career, Vilde has strived to be a designer who can practice  a range of different techniques. Her love for illustration, graphic design, animation, and visual effects has formed her visual language that incorporates her personal experiences and goals.

She believes that every field holds boundless potential, and how interdisciplinary work brings out the best in everyone. When she is not busy designing, you can find her with a paintbrush making artwork, or hiking in the nearest mountain.

PROJECT TITLE

‘ODYSSÈ’

For many, it's precisely the journeys we embark on that change our perspective on our surroundings.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My design aims to visually capture a journey through visual storytelling, not only to relive our experiences, but also to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-cultural understanding, by building on the ocean as an expression. As visual beings, we respond to colors, moving images, and emotions, and the combination of visual communication and sustainability can strengthen both disciplines. With this in mind, and as a strength for my master's project, I will use this to connect the ocean as an important source of my inspiration and combine it with the experiences learned from Hardanger and the Pacific Ocean.
