(geometria, geometridae, géométrie)Performative reading by Sidsel Bonde

A collective walk to Sydnesgaten 1 will depart from Bergen Kunsthall at 17.00. The reading will start 17.30 at Sydnesgaten 1. Free, all welcome. The reading will be in English.

A performative reading to accompany the one-page publication (geometria, geometridae, géométrie) by Sidsel Bonde in Masterutstillingen i kunst 2019 'with eyes closed, call me' at Bergen Kunsthall (open until 5 May 2019).

From the point goes the line, and from the line goes the plane. With pegs attached to the ground, and cords stretched out in straight lines, people made their first survey of the earth in the ancient kingdoms of Babylon and Egypt. From here originates the meaning of the word ‘geometry’: ge = earth, metria = measure.

Three versions of the word geometry (geometria, geometridae, géométrie) represent and connect Ancient Egyptian land surveys, Descartes’ coordinate system, Scandinavian agrarian reforms and the increasing population of the birch moth larvae in Northern Norway.

In this reading, historical material will be joined and folded in an attempt to determine how landscape has shaped geometry and how geometry has reformed landscape, and as an entry point into the theory of bio-semiotics as a method to sustain diversity in nature.

There is limited capacity but we will try to fit everyone who is interested! If you would like to guarantee a place, or for more information, please e-mail Sidsel : sdslbnd @ gmail.com

Performative reading in Tine Adler's 'Together with Two Oceans'

'And this? This will just be a faded memory of a time when we actually have a damn about each other'

Tine Adler has invited fellow artist, Nicolai Risbjerg, to perform the monologues “”Scene I - The Prologue”” and “”Scene X - The Resolvement”” from the soul wrecking, sci-fi-esque melodrama Together with Two Oceans.

"Is your heart still hurting? Ok! Together we’ll get through this! I promise.”

The performance is in English and lasts 15 minutes.
