I am working on a documentary series that will portray my mom and her three siblings. The first film, Onkel Henrik, captures my uncle’s life while the second one focuses on my mom and will be exhibited in Bergen Kunsthall for our graduation show - it illustrates her background, behaviour, private sphere and daily life, living in Cuba. Moving images allow me to rediscover reality and tweak the boundaries of the embarrassing. I use text and film as tools to critique and engage with psychological issues within family dynamics and social heritage. I question my identity through personal experiences and familial relationships. To understand how our backgrounds influence our presence, I work in the intersection between the private and the public.
