In his Ph.d project Teleportation Erik Friis Reitan examines how photography relates to physical presence, absence and materiality by building elaborate installations around photographic objects and surfaces. The project takes inspiration from sources such as minimalism, sacral architecture, science fiction, panorama paintings, scenography, ancient tombs and caves.

In his lecture he will take us through the artistic development of the project —  from the application to the Ph.d programme to the most recent exhibition that some of us have seen, the installation Teleportation #2 in Rom 61 last year.
