Stipendiat Natalya Pasichnyk presents her project "Rethinking WTC - new insights into the interpretation of WTC through the prism of the theory of Boleslav Javorsky".

The inspirational source for this project was the theory by musicologist Boleslav Javorsky, the central tenet of which is that the main foundation of WTC is the Protestant Chorales, and that the WTC is an artistic interpretation of images and plots of the Bible.

This idea started the creative process of developing a new methodological approach in working with the interpretation of the music text of the WTC, as a complement to the wide range of elements within my individual working process which already informs my artistic practice. In doing so, I analyzed the relations between music text and Protestant chorales and letting the understanding I get from the words in chorales be the deciding factor for all other elements of my professional practice. Later on, while working with this method I found parallels and inspiration from other works with words by Bach (cantatas, passions etc.).

I am also experimenting with the interviewing of the motives of chorales and other works with words by Bach, with the piano part, to make my working processes and interpretation more clear and audible.
