Through his research, Stephan has delved into the phenomenon of resonance and explored it artistically. The processes and music that have emerged reflect how resonance is both socially and materially conditioned – the refractions in a complex, inextricable network between people, spaces and instruments shape how we create music.
We resonate – reasoning is created through resonance.
The use of vibrating speakers in the instruments amplifies the relationships – the instrumentalists can sense each other's sound through their own instruments. Hybrids emerge, and everything becomes closely interwoven. The sound during this concert comes from the instruments on stage, even when it is electronically generated, and this is the first meeting between these two ensembles. This will be an exploration of the nature of relationships and vibrations on the premises of improvisation.
