The Grieg Academy's jazz students have been in hard training for a week and rehearsed a program of compositions by the legendary pianist and composer Thelonius Monk. The supervisor for the project has been a Monk specialist, pianist, etc. Knut Kristiansen

Friday 3rd november 18.00: Ragtime, pipe drum etc. – percussion concert
The percussion class at the Grieg Academy under the direction of Peter Kates presents works by John S. Pratt, George Hamilton Green, Leo Delibes and Takatsugu Muramatsu (whose works are presented by two visiting percussion students from Bergen Private Gymnas

Voss kulturhus presents three of the Grieg Academy's master's students: Kateryna Persysta and Marina Matsuoka on piano and Inga Kristine Bialach on violin.

Party for the music therapy community in Western Norway

Norsk forening for musikkterapi (NFMT), Vestland fylkeslag, invites you to a party for the music therapy community. On stage is a band with a good mix of teachers, students and alumni from the Grieg Academy.

Sunday 12th november at 19.00: Dido & Aeneas
Edvard Grieg Ungdomskor and the Grieg Academy song class present a concert version of the baroque composer Henry Purcell's opera "Dido & Aeneas". Håkon Matti Skrede conducts the ensemble, which also consists of harpsichordist Ingrid Eriksen Hagen and cellist Siri Hilmen.
Dido and Aeneas, the loving couple, spend a few intense hours together before the gods want something else and send Aeneas on new missions.
This is a story full of great emotions, betrayal, sorrow and deep love.

Wednesday 15th november at 18.00: Piano concert I
Welcome to a nice evening of music, joy and community! It will be a composition of pianists who all study with the Grieg Academy's professor Signe Bakke, and they will play works by, among others, Chopin, Schumann, Debussy, Beethoven and Grieg.

More music, joy and fellowship with Signe Bakke's students: Szilard Simon Pal plays Prokofiev, Elena Dikic and Sophie Pfarrhofer both play Beethoven and Katrine Lislevand Pavljuk plays Schumann.

Wednesday 22nd november at 19.00: Concert with the song class
Five song students perform a varied concert programme, with i.a. arias by W.A. Mozart, romances by Sverre Jordan and probably a couple of lieder by Francis Poulenc.

With: Anette Menes, Laetitia Stemp, Ingrid Sagabraaten, Aleksander Setså and Elise Varne. Turid Bakke Braut accompanies on the piano.

Thursday 23rd november at 18.00 in Bergen Library: House concert
Concert with professor Torleif Torgersen's students on classical piano: Selina Loewen, Kristian Skår and Sofie Weist. On the programme are works by e.g. Maurice Ravel and W.A. Mozart.

Saturday 25th november at 16.00 in Vaksdal Church: Piano concert
Vaksdal church has got a brand new grand piano - and on that occasion the congregation invites four of the Grieg Academy's piano students to play a concert: Szilard Simon Pal, Elena Dikic, Katrine Lislevand Pavljuk and Marina Matsuoka perform works by, among others, Edvard Grieg, Claude Debussy, Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Prokofiev.

Monday 27th november at 19.00: Flute concert
The Grieg Academy's flute students hold a concert together, with music by Bach, Ibert, Telemann, Hoover, Gaubert, Strayhorn, Ellington and Jobim.
With Tora Theigmann, Katrine Bratteng, Fanny Ludescher and Vera Faye on flute, as well as Tor Erik Seime Pettersen and Adrian Olsen on piano.

Tuesday 28th november at 19.00: A small violin concert
Two of the Grieg Academy's student on violin, Inga Bialach and Bernhard Sekkelsten, plays one individual piece each – Bernhard will be playing «Eventyrsuite» by Bjarne Brustad for violin solo, while Inga will be playing Ralph Vaughan Williams’ «The Lark Ascending», accompagnied by Torleif Torgersen on piano. 

Wednesday 29th november at 18.30 in Amalies have, Bergen Library:
Concert with «7 Flis»

Everyone in the quintet "7 Flis" plays reed instruments (single or double) - hence the name.

The ensemble consists of an oboist, two clarinetists, a saxophonist and a bassoonist - all students at the Grieg Academy. They perform music by i.a. Claude Debussy, Bela Bartok, Johan Halvorsen and Edvard Grieg, partly in specially arranged editions.
