The piece Delphis is based on the Homeric Hymn to Apollo, which deals with the creation of Apollo’s temple at Delphi and the oracle Pythia.
Time is essential in the myths surrounding the oracle at Delphi, which was a way for humans to communicate with Apollo—a god who could see in all directions of time, including the future. The rhythm of the dactylic hexameter and reinterpretations in various languages are central themes in the composition.
