In light of an ever-present environmental crisis that can no longer be ignored, Anne Skaansar, Ingrid Aarset, and Anders K. Strand have sought to explore whether Arkadia as a narrative, and the pastoral as a form of expression, can provide spaces for artistic exploration of the relationship between nature and culture, and between humans and nature.
As part of this work, artists Skaansar and Aarset have developed new works to be shown in an exhibition at Rom61 at KMD from December 13–22, 2024. Strand, a scholar of literature, has written about the river as an expression of time in a book that examines poems from antiquity to the present day. The book will be launched at a later date, but Strand will talk about it and present an article during the exhibition opening on December 13.
