Welcome to the exhibition Letters by Åse Huus in Rom 61, , 1-10 October 2024.

The exhibition presents works that offer various interpretations of the concept, exploring both its linguistic meaning and typographic representation. With different technologies, the concept is examined by constructing and deconstructing material to explore how content and form influence each other.

Aspect and perspective shifts create visual ways to convey ideas, where aspect shifts explore different viewpoints, while proximity refers to the relationship between visual elements in space and distance.

BIO:
Åse Huus is a designer, educator, and researcher in visual communication. Her areas of expertise include editorial design/book design, typography, visual identity, and design processes and methods. In addition to teaching, she is an active supervisor at all three academic levels – BA, MA, and PhD.

In her artistic research, Åse explores editorial design and typography as fundamental tools for meaning-making, creative dialogue, and poetry. She employs a hermeneutic and discursive approach, where observation plays a key role. The observations can range from fleeting moments to longer-term studies in the search for insights through visual documentation and exploration of the dynamics between content and form.
