Lava from the interior of the earth meets brutalism and science fiction in this exhitibion, which is part of Erik Friis Reitan Ph.D project at Bergen Academy of Contemporary art. The project examines how photography sculpts space by transporting reality between locations, and is based on a series of field trips to the volcanic eruption Holuhraun in Iceland. Erik Friis Reitan uses photography as a starting point for monumental installations, and the works take on a sculptural quality inspired by land art and minimalism. This serves to dissect the phenomenology of the photograph, the relationship between man, technology and nature, mapping and movement.

Exhibition runs until 7 March.
