Sonic Intimacies explores experiences of intimacy with and through sound, lingering with the possibilities to be touched and moved through listening.
The research brings attention to sonic practice as embedded in the fabric and relationships of everyday life. It takes place through artistic practice and collaboration, exploring the modes of closeness that can be facilitated by electroacoustic mediation and digital reimagination.
Sonic Intimacies develops critical and caring approaches to sound recording, that reflect on relationships with place and the power dynamics inherent in the histories and technologies of mediation. It asks how relational encounters on intimate scales can affect how we listen, care for and tend to each other and the world.
The presentation will be held in English and last for 45 minutes, with questions and discussion afterwards.
