Line Poulsen is an interdisciplinary artist. The popular culture she grew up with plays a big role in her visual world, ranging from the gendered chick-flicks to sci-fi and porn. She often works by merging fiction and everyday rituals, establishing immersive situations for herself to experience, as a way to deal with longing and alienation. At the moment, she is working with parodies as a way to criticize societal structures and hierarchies. Line Poulsen's work takes shape in sculpture, performance, video, print, installation and much more. Utilizing anything from her own body, to synthetic materials, to found-objects and organic or abject matter. In Line Poulsen's work you might sense an urge to entertain, but also something holding back letting the deadpan inside.
